Status as of October 21, 2026. PredictIt’s terms, reviewed for this snapshot, limit participation to U.S. persons 18 or older. The market operates under CFTC staff no-action relief, not as a registered Designated Contract Market. Terms state a $3,500 per-participant, per-contract investment limit. Comparison listing only — no partner or affiliate claim.
What is PredictIt?
PredictIt is one of the oldest real-money political prediction venues available to U.S. persons. Not a Kalshi-style Designated Contract Market. Not a crypto venue.
PredictIt’s terms describe the site as an experimental research and educational facility of PMRC, not an investment market or a gambling facility, and say the operators are not registered with the CFTC. Staff no-action is a decision not to recommend an enforcement action if stated conditions are met. It is not a charter.
CFTC Letter 14-130 (2014) created the original framework for Victoria University of Wellington. Letter 25-20 (July 14, 2025) amended it and allowed transfer of operation to PMRC. Aristotle International, Inc. is named in the terms for identity verification and trade clearing/processing — a service relationship, not a partnership we claim.
Who is PredictIt for?
How do prices work on PredictIt?
Illustrative Yes · 46¢ ($0.46)
- A 46¢ Yes is a $0.46 share. Historic PredictIt convention is 1¢–99¢ with a $1 winning share before fees.
- Per-contract investment limits apply. PredictIt’s terms state $3,500 per participant per contract. Confirm the live cap — we do not treat it as unchangeable.
- The percent reading aid is not a forecast from this site, and PredictIt’s terms warn the market is not built as a commercial investment venue.
What can you trade on PredictIt?
- U.S. elections and nominations
- House and Senate control
- Other political questions PMRC chooses to list
How is PredictIt different from other prediction markets?
- No-action research market — not a DCM, not a DCO, not a sportsbook vertical.
- Position and investment caps are part of the framework. Kalshi-style catalogs do not carry those PredictIt limits.
- 2022–2023 “PredictIt is shutting down” headlines are not the 2026 status. The live question is the current letter, operator, and terms.

Are there bonuses or promotions?
Terms highlights
- Terms still state a per-participant, per-contract investment cap. Confirm the live figure on PredictIt.
- No-action relief is not a commercial bonus shop and not a DCM charter.
- We will not invent a $25 or $50 PredictIt offer to fill this row.
Eligibility / geo. Terms limit participation to U.S. persons 18 or older. That is not a promo map.
Event-contract trading risks money you can lose. Responsible trading.
Where is PredictIt available?
- 18+ U.S. persons, per current terms.
- No-action is not DCM registration.
- Caps and contract scope can change with the letter or the terms.
PredictIt by state
PredictIt does not publish a state-by-state list on the pages we checked, so every row reads Check status.
