Sportsbook Maps Are Not Prediction Maps

FanDuel Predicts and DraftKings Predictions do not inherit the sportsbook footprint. Read the product, then the state note, then the in-app screen.

Sportsbooks live under state gaming licenses. Comparison listing only · methodology

Knowing where you can bet a game does not tell you where you can buy a contract. One map is a gaming license. The other is a product approval plus a geofence. They overlap in conversation. They do not overlap on a checklist.

This site lists FanDuel Predicts and DraftKings Predictions as comparison entries for that reason. They are the closest sports-brand pair on the comparison board: consumer sports brands with a separate predictions vertical. They are not interchangeable with FanDuel Sportsbook or DraftKings Sportsbook, and they are not interchangeable with each other.

What “where launched” means here

Launch states are operator-defined. We won’t publish a fifty-state sports-contract grid and pretend it’s live. A state with a legal book can still be a state FanDuel Predicts does not list for sports contracts. A state with a CFTC path can still block a sports-branded vertical. FanDuel Predicts does not list New Jersey for sports contracts.

California and Texas are labeled Available. FanDuel Predicts lists them for sports contracts. Other markets are Available. FanDuel Predicts does not list Illinois for sports contracts.

How to keep the products straight

Read the product name on the app, not the house brand on the billboard. Cents or $0–$1: you’re in the format we use. A moneyline: you may have left predictions. Open the matching state guide, then confirm in-app — our note is only as fresh as the date on the page. Don’t copy a Kalshi habit onto FanDuel Predicts, or a sportsbook habit onto Kalshi.

The rest of the board still matters

Kalshi remains the standalone CFTC-exchange comparison in our set. Robinhood offers event contracts through other CFTC-registered exchanges. Polymarket US is a separate CFTC-designated contract market (since July 9, 2025). Crypto.com’s prediction contracts are offered by CDNA, a CFTC-designated contract market. A sports question can appear on more than one of those platform types. The map does not follow the question. It follows the operator.

No side. We date the snapshot.
